Sherry Giles Easter, also known as Cookie, was born and raised in a small rural community, Montpelier, located just outside of Richmond, VA. She became interested in music at a very young age. It was at her home church, Bethany Baptist Church, where she accepted Christ as her Savior, and was introduced to traditional choir, foot-stomping, and quartet singing. When she was old enough, she joined the children’s choir, which marked the beginning of her singing career. Cookie sang throughout her childhood and young adult years on choirs and reluctantly sang solos.
God has also gifted Cookie in other creative areas, namely acting and writing. She performs in plays with the Old Dominion Drama Guild and has performed with the Living Word Stage Company. Cookie also writes poems and songs, and is working on her first book entitled “Comfortable In My Own Skin”.
Cookie seeks opportunities to use her gift of exhortation. She feels God has called her to minister to others in the areas of hope, peace, self-worth, and spiritual fulfillment. She actively pursues missions opportunities and was blessed to travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil as a missionary.
Cookie’s place of worship is Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries, where Bishop Daniel Robertson, Jr. is Pastor. She sings on the Excellence Choir, and Praise Team and serves as Assistant Overseer of Praise and Worship and Team Leader of her praise team.
Cookie is the wife of Tony Easter. They have two children, Kristen and Anthony. Her parents are Joseph and Ruth Giles. She has one sister, Josandra Giles-Faniel, also known as Jo-Jo, who is also a member of Ecclesia.
